The destinations were compared based on four categories. The respective results were then related to the total size in square kilometers – and depending on the outcome, a score between one and 25 was assigned.

Greece’s capital secures the top spot in the ranking with a total of 92 out of 100 possible points, thus earning the title of the best photography travel destination. Surrounded by a picturesque mountain landscape, Athens offers a plethora of photo opportunities for travelers with a total of 74 attractions per square kilometer. The numerous art museums and galleries invite creative travelers to get inspired for their next snapshot.
